10. Why is my pool water cloudy?

Possible Causes: Poor filtration, imbalanced chemicals, or high swimmer load.

Quick Fix: Check and clean your filter, test water chemistry with our experts at our water testing station and shock the pool if needed.

11. Why is my pool turning green?

Possible Cause: Algae growth, usually from low chlorine levels and/or poor circulation.

Quick Fix: Test and adjust chemistry levels at our water test station. Shock the pool, brush the walls and floor, and run your filter continuously for 24–48hours.

12. My pump isn’t working — what should I check first?

Check: Power supply, breaker, and pump timer settings.

Also look for: Clogged skimmer or pump basket, air leaks in suction lines, or a dirty filter.

13. Why is my pool losing water?

Normal Evaporation: 1/4–1/2inch per day is normal in hot weather.

Other Causes: Leaks in plumbing, liner, filter, or around fittings.

Test: Try a bucket test to rule out evaporation. If it’s leaking, we recommend professional leak detection.

14. My filter gauge pressure is too high — what should I do?

Cause: Dirty or clogged filter, or broken gauge.

Fix: Backwash a sand or DE filter. For cartridge filters, remove and clean the cartridges thoroughly or replace cartridge.

Pro Tip: Regularly check the pressure gauge. If it’s 8–10psi over your clean reading, it’s time to clean. If the gauge doesn’t move when filter turns on/off, replace gauge.

15. My filter gauge pressure is too low — what's wrong?

Cause: Clogged pump basket or skimmer, closed valves, or air leak in suction line.

Fix: Clean the baskets, check for air leaks (look for bubbles in the pump), and ensure all valves are open.

16. Pump is making a loud or screeching noise

Cause: Bearings might be worn out, or there could be debris in the impeller.

Fix: Shut off power and inspect. You may need to clean the impeller or replace the motor if the bearings are bad. You can bring your pump in to our in-house repair shop.

17. Pool liner has wrinkles or is pulling away

Cause: Water chemistry issues, ground water pressure, or poor installation.

Fix: Minor wrinkles can be smoothed with a pool brush. Major shifting may required raining and resetting the liner.

18. Brown stains on pool surface

Cause: Metals in water (iron or copper) or objects left in the pool.

Fix: Use a metal sequestrant or a stain remover. For localized stains, apply vitamin C tablets to test if it’s metal-based.

19. How long should I run my pool pump each day?

We recommend running your pump 8–12 hours daily during the swimming season. This ensures proper circulation and keeps your water clean. If you have a variable-speed pump, you can run it longer at a lower speed for better efficiency.

20. Why is the flow that is coming from my jet(s) weak?

Fix: Backwash or clean the filter. If the problem recurs frequently, replace sand, acid wash D.E. grids, or replace Cartridge.

21. Why is there sand in the bottom of my pool?

Fix: You need to verify if it is sand and not dead algae. Sand is heavy and falls directly under the return jet. Dead algae is light and moves around the pool when brushed.

If you determine it is sand, replace the lateral assembly in the filter. If dead algae check for air leaks and/or replace sand

22. How often should I backwash?

Only when the water pressure coming out of the jets is weak. Don’t forget to rinseafter backwashing.
